$150 K and $250 K per year

A founder-led AI company, funded by cash flow from an established, profitable parent business, is building the sovereign company brain for regulated enterprises. If you are considering sending an application, make sure to hit the apply button below after reading through the entire description. The company’s agentic intelligence system runs entirely inside each customer’s own AWS or Azure tenancy so sensitive data never leaves their control. Its parent is a repeat-founder venture backed earlier by Seven Seven Six (Alexis Ohanian) and Thirty Five Ventures (Kevin Durant), whose virtual campus platform safely serves more than 100,000 K-12 students. This 15-person firm is hiring its first-ever Head of Sales (alongside a Head of Customer Success) to package and distribute a product the founder has already sold into regulated finance. You will report directly to the co-founder and CEO, cowork with him in Los Angeles about once a week, and travel to customers. Solution The platform is a permissioned context graph, a company brain that connects to a business’s SaaS systems, meetings, and threads and keeps institutional knowledge in one place. It runs inside the customer’s own cloud and connects to the models and assistants a team already uses, such as Claude, Microsoft Copilot, or open-weight models, through MCP, so every agent inherits the exact permissions of the employee it acts for, and forward-deployed engineers build applications on top. Security and in-tenancy deployment are the foundation, but the real value is company-owned intelligence put to work: for example, connecting what customers ask for in sales conversations to product priorities, then telling the sales team when a requested capability ships. Two regulated-finance customers already pay for it, both closed by the founder, with more deployments in flight. Role A true founding, player-coach role: you start as a senior individual contributor who carries a number and helps the CEO figure out how to sell the platform, then build the first sales team and write the playbook from scratch.$150K to $200K base with target OTE of roughly double base ($300K to $400K); commission is about 20% of new contract value with no cap. The exact commission basis, quota, and ramp will be finalized with you. Equity as stock options in the parent company, so you own a piece of the entire company and not just the new AI business, plus full W2 benefits including medical and dental. You will sell two offers, the platform deployed for a company’s own teams and the platform as the backend for partner AI products. ICP incudes financial-services businesses that hold sensitive data and have limited in-house engineering, such as consumer lending, specialty insurance, private credit, and family offices; the exact company size and buying profile are still being refined, and you will help set them. The two current customers pay between $150K and $250K per year; you will help develop the pricing and packaging for larger opportunities. Expect 1-to-2-year terms and long, multi-stakeholder cycles with security and compliance review, with a year-one goal of roughly $1M in new annual contract value. The titles you will call into include the CEO (who typically takes the first meeting and signs), the COO, and the head or director of IT.You will build an AI-native sales motion that uses the company’s own agents for research and outreach instead of a large SDR team, and open partner channels with private equity firms into their portfolio companies. You have a documented record of personally beating quota in startup enterprise sales, including winning deals before the company had a known brand or a repeatable process. You have sold complex technical software (data infrastructure, security, or cloud platforms) to CIO-level buyers, can run discovery across executive and technical stakeholders and build the business case that earns executive trust, and have built or helped build an early-stage sales org. Real startup experience is required; a Rolodex of trusted finance buyers and prior fintech, insurtech, or lending-software sales are strong pluses. Culture The founder and CEO is a repeat entrepreneur who built a spatial-video platform that hit #3 Product of the Day on Product Hunt and drew backing from Seven Seven Six and Thirty Five Ventures, then scaled a virtual campus into a platform for more than 100,000 K-12 students. A profitable, multi-million-dollar virtual campus business funds the new venture, so you get founding-team scope with a real revenue engine behind it; the CEO plans to raise outside capital only once the sales motion is proven. The platform already runs the company’s own business day-to-day, and two paying customers in regulated finance validate the product, both sold by the founder before any sales hire existed. Direct access to the CEO: you collaborate closely with the founder (in person when in Los Angeles), shape pricing and positioning together, and inherit the pipeline he has personally built. The product is genuinely differentiated: a sovereign, permissioned company brain inside the customer’s own tenancy that works through the tools employees already use, a sharp answer to CEOs being told to just build AI in-house. Official Job Description
The role: You will be the Head of Sales for the company’s AI platform: a player-coach who closes deals now and builds the go-to-market organization behind you.
Reports to: Cofounder and CEOWorks with: our CTO, engineering, and the incoming Head of Customer Success, who will build and lead the customer success and forward-deployed engineering pods. Owns: positioning, pipeline, the full sales cycle, pricing input, partner channels, and the sales team There is no playbook yet. You will start as a senior individual contributor and write it while you carry a number.
What you will do:
  • Turn a powerful but unpackaged product into a pitch a COO understands in five minutes
  • Take over the founder-led pipeline and build a repeatable motion beyond the CEO’s network
  • Run complex, regulated deal cycles with CEOs, COOs and heads of IT, including security and compliance review
  • Sell two offers: the platform deployed for a company’s own teams, and the platform as the backend for AI products our partners take to market
  • Pair with forward-deployed engineers on discovery so every deal maps to a deployment we can deliver
  • Build channels with private equity firms that can bring the platform to their portfolio companies
  • Shape pricing and packaging for contracts from $200K to $5M a year
  • Build an AI-native sales function, using our own agents for research, outreach and onboarding instead of a large SDR team
  • Coach reps on every stage of the deal, and hire and lead the first account executives
Who we sell toOur initial working profile is mid-market financial services: service businesses with roughly 20 to 200 employees that hold sensitive customer data. They typically have a director of IT but no engineering team and run on Microsoft. They want AI, are rightly afraid of leaking customer data, and have the budget to do it properly. The hire will help refine the exact company size and buying criteria. We do not sell to software companies or venture-backed tech startups, which tend to build this themselves, or to small businesses. Other regulated markets, such as government, are later expansions.
What success looks like:
  • First 90 days
  • Learn the current customers’ use cases, take ownership of the founder-led sales pipeline, establish clear handoffs with Customer Success, and close your first new deals from the inherited pipeline.
  • Write the ICP, qualification framework and first-call pitch
  • Open at least one repeatable lead source beyond the CEO’s network, such as a PE partner
  • First year
  • Bring in about $1M in new annual contract value
  • Prove a sales motion that runs without the CEO in every deal
  • Hire the first members of your sales team
Who you are: You have a documented record of personally beating quota in startup enterprise sales, including winning deals before the company had a known brand or a repeatable process. xhqgsiq You have sold complex, technical enterprise systems, such as data infrastructure, security or cloud platforms, through long, multi-stakeholder cycles You can explain how the system works, from architecture to data residency to permissions, and hold your own with a head of IT, then translate it for a COOYou have sold to sophisticated buyers, ideally in financial services You are smart and quick on your feet: you learn a technical product deeply and handle hard questions live You have built a sales process from scratch and know how to move deals through security review, procurement and stalls You have coached reps across the full deal lifecycle: list building and prospecting, discovery, champion development and closing You have built or helped build an early-stage sales organization and still like to close deals yourself. You would rather lose a bad-fit deal than sell something we cannot deliver
Nice to have:
  • Buyers who already trust you and would take this meeting
  • Prior sales at an InsurTech, lending technology or financial services software company
  • Relationships with private equity firms and their portfolio companies
  • Experience selling a services-heavy or forward-deployed offering
  • Compensation and logistics
Base salary: $150K to $200K, depending on experience
On-target earnings: roughly double base, with commission of about 20% of new contract value and no cap. We will define the ramp and commission plan together, and a ramp or draw is available for the right candidate
Equity: stock options in the parent company
Location: Los Angeles preferred; New York or remote possible depending on circumstances
