Key responsibilities:
Analyzes commercial lines accounts to make informed underwriting decisions based on risk characteristics and exposure analysis
Communicates underwriting decisions and maintains relationships with agency personnel regarding proposals, declinations, and loss control
Trains and mentors less experienced underwriting team members while ensuring adherence to pricing and risk selection guidelines
Required qualifications:
BS/BA degree in business administration, finance, marketing, or a related field
5-7 years of experience in commercial insurance underwriting
Advanced knowledge of commercial underwriting, including Workers' Compensation, Property, and Casualty lines
Strong sales and marketing skills with the ability to qualify opportunities and close deals
Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment
