Executive Director

About the Role: The Company is seeking an Executive Director to lead its philanthropic efforts in support of a pioneering higher education institution in Africa. The successful candidate will be the chief executive of the Foundation, responsible for strategic leadership, fundraising, donor stewardship, and organizational management. This role demands a visionary leader with a strong entrepreneurial spirit, capable of building the Foundation into a world-class philanthropic organization. Key responsibilities include leading the strategic growth of the Foundation, developing and implementing multi-year fundraising strategies, and working closely with the Board to establish priorities and performance metrics. The Executive Director will also be instrumental in cultivating relationships with a diverse range of supporters, from individual philanthropists to institutional partners, and will serve as a compelling ambassador for the Foundation's mission. Applicants for the Executive Director position at the company should have a Bachelor's degree (advanced degree preferred) and at least 7 years' leadership experience in nonprofit management, fundraising, philanthropy, higher education, or a related field. The role requires a proven track record in securing major gifts, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment. A strong strategic planning and organizational leadership background is essential, as is the willingness to travel internationally. The ideal candidate will have experience in launching or scaling nonprofit organizations, particularly in the context of higher education or international development, and existing relationships within philanthropic, corporate, or higher education networks.
