Cardiothoracic Operating Room Registered Nurse

Provide perioperative nursing care for patients undergoing cardiothoracic, thoracic, transplant, vascular and endovascular procedures. Assess patient needs, develop and document plans of care, collaborate with the interprofessional team, promote patient safety, and educate patients and families. Learn to scrub and circulate as part of a structured orientation. Assess and evaluate patients’ physical, psychosocial and emotional needs. Develop, implement and document individualized plans of care with the patient and care team. Support patient- and family-centered care in a healing environment. Educate patients and families about illness, recovery, home care and medications. Promote patient safety, quality and regulatory compliance. Communicate care plans across the continuum and participate in professional development.
