The Role: This Business Development Representative role is a phone-first sales seat for an experienced seller. You’ll spend your day calling shippers, qualifying opportunities, and applying your sales experience to the freight brokerage business. You’ll work directly with our Director of Sales and Operations, our Director of Business Development, and our CEO. You’ll start by sourcing new accounts and handing them to our operations team to manage. As you demonstrate results, you’ll earn the opportunity to manage accounts yourself at higher commission rates.
What You’ll Do:
  • Make outbound calls to shippers across target industries
  • Qualify prospects, book discovery conversations, and advance opportunities through pipeline
  • Get fluent in how freight is priced, quoted, and moved using Turvo (TMS), HubSpot (CRM), and DATBuild and manage your pipeline in HubSpotJoin leadership on customer calls and contribute to closing deals
  • Hit daily activity targets and own your ramp
What We’re Looking For:
  • 2+ years of business development or sales experience, with a track record of outbound prospecting and pipeline generation
  • Comfortable on the phone and willing to make a high volume of calls every day
  • Coachable, competitive, and self-motivated
  • Clear communicator, in writing and on the phone
  • Able to handle rejection and keep momentum
Bachelor’s degree preferred, not required. We hire on attitude, work ethic, and results over pedigree. Compensation
Base salary: $60,000–$70,000 (W2)
Health insurance stipend: Provided
Commission: Uncapped commissions, paid quarterly on the gross margin you generate
Year 1 OTE: $80K–$95K depending on ramp speed Year 2+ OTE: $100K–$130K+ as your book matures and commission tiers increase
Location: On-site at our Asheville, NC or Charleston, SC office; or remote for the right candidate Relocation assistance (if applicable): $5,000 How You EarnYour commission grows as your results grow. Early on, you’ll source accounts and hand them to our operations team (lower rate, recurring residual). As you prove you can manage accounts independently, you unlock higher commission tiers.
