Lead Instructional Designer (Contract) (Fully Remote)

Review course plans, course guides, and LMS builds against client standards and checklists before submission. Provide substantive design feedback on assessability, assessment validity, and activity mix. Ensure each course team completes review checklists and hold the line on accessibility and design standards. Meetings and Client Contact: Attend client calls as the design voice, presenting decisions and explaining trade-offs. Participate in ID and SME calls when needed, especially for complex subjects or new SMEs. Coordinate with project managers on sequencing, risks, and realistic dates. Team and Project Coaching: Coach designers new to the project or client, including those inheriting partial work. Onboard contract designers to templates, review processes, and standards. Keep review status visible in project systems to support project manager visibility. Engagement and Expectations: Contract per project with defined scope, paid at milestones; no timesheet required. Expect a recurring weekly commitment with review turnaround within stated windows. Use AI tooling and judge where AI-generated content meets standards; respond to email/Slack within one business day.
