Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse

Mercy is seeking an RN/GN for our Medical A unit, delivering compassionate, patient-centered care in a collaborative, team-based environment. In this role, you will provide direct bedside nursing, including assessments, medication administration, IV therapy, wound care, and discharge preparation for diverse adult patients. You will document thoroughly in the EHR, uphold high standards of safety and infection control, and participate in interdisciplinary care planning. Provide direct nursing care to adult patients on a medical unit, following Mercy and unit-specific protocols. Perform patient assessments, monitor vital signs, and recognize and report changes in condition promptly. Administer medications and treatments safely, including IV therapy, and document accurately in the EHR. Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team. Educate patients and families on diagnoses, medications, discharge instructions, and ongoing self-care. Maintain infection control and patient safety standards, ensuring a clean and safe environment. Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and communicate effectively with physicians and support staff. Support new graduates and peers through collaboration, feedback, and shared learning opportunities.
