Description: American Traveler is hiring a Cardiac Stress Testing RN for a day-shift role in a Cardiology/Stress Test department requiring EKG and stress test technique experience. Details Work in the Cardiac Stress Testing department within Echo/EKG/Nuclear Medicine services at a short-term acute care teaching hospital Facilitate stress tests alongside Echo and Nuclear Medicine technologists and other stress test RNs1:1 patient ratio Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours, 7:00 AM-3:00 PMOn-call required on Saturdays in Nuclear Medicine from 0700-1430 Weekend coverage required on Saturdays Floating to other units and sister facilities based on skill set may be required Uses Epic for charting Uses GE stress testing equipment
Requirements:
  • Active RN license, Compact license must be in hand at time of submissionBLS and ACLS certification required
  • At least 1 year of relevant experience required
  • Epic charting experience required
  • Proficiency in stress test techniques including treadmill, bicycle, arm, and leg ergometry protocols
  • Knowledge of treadmill protocols (Balke, Bruce, Modified Bruce, Costill, Ellestad, Naughton)
  • Skilled in obtaining 12-lead EKG/ECG and performing Exercise Stress Tests and Stress Echo
  • Experience administering pharmacologic agents such as Dobutamine and emergency medications
  • Peripheral IV insertion skills required
  • Experience activating emergency services and rapid response/code teams
  • Previous charge experience preferredCCU and ICU work setting experience preferred
Additional Information:
  • Facilitate cardiac stress testing procedures and monitor patients throughout testing
  • Work closely with Echo and Nuclear Medicine technologists as part of a collaborative care team
  • Must have a personal vehicle for this assignment
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Candidates must be willing to commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
  • All RTO and scheduling requests must be submitted upfront; minimal RTO is preferred to avoid delays
  • Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate
  • Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility for standard travel rate eligibility
  • Former permanent staff may return as travelers after a 3-month waiting period, provided they reside more than 50 miles from the facility
  • Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years are required
  • No fee for parking
  • Scrubs provided for OR/Cath Lab positions
