K–12 School-Based Academic Tutor

City Year is seeking an Academic Tutor to support students’ academic and social-emotional growth in partner public schools. In this full-time role, you will provide small-group and one-on-one tutoring in core subjects, track student progress, and collaborate with teachers to align support with classroom instruction. You will serve as a mentor and positive role model, helping students build confidence, set goals, and develop effective learning habits. Provide small-group and one-on-one tutoring in core academic subjects. Support classroom instruction alongside teachers during lessons. Offer mentoring and social-emotional support to students. Track and report student progress and attendance data. Communicate regularly with teachers and school staff about student needs. Lead or assist with homework help and enrichment activities. Participate in City Year-led trainings and professional development. Collaborate with a diverse AmeriCorps team to plan and deliver student supports. Engage families and caregivers when appropriate to support student success. Model positive behavior, reliability, and a growth mindset for students.
