Disability Specialist and Victim Advocate

The Initiative is seeking a full-time Disability Specialist & Victim Advocate to work on-site in collaboration with PorchLight: A Family Justice Center in Lakewood, Colorado. The Initiative is a Colorado nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting survivors of domestic violence and abuse through trauma-informed advocacy, education, and community collaboration for survivors with disabilities. Working alongside PorchLight and other community partners, we strive to improve access to services, remove barriers, and create safer, more inclusive systems for survivors with disabilities. This grant-funded position combines direct victim advocacy with disability expertise, accessibility consultation, and professional training. As the Disability Specialist & Victim Advocate, you will provide trauma-informed support to survivors with disabilities while serving as a trusted accessibility resource for PorchLight staff and partner agencies. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to reduce barriers to services, improve accessibility, deliver training and technical assistance, and help ensure survivors with disabilities have equitable access to support. The ideal candidate is passionate about disability rights, victim advocacy, trauma-informed care, and systems change, and enjoys building collaborative relationships that strengthen services for individuals and families.
